New TV Shows About Fish

Thursday, September 1st, 2011

Every now and then I like watching The Animal Planet and I had heard of a new show that didn’t really sound like something that I would enjoy, but I have to say that their new show called Tanked was pretty entertaining, much better than their other new show called Hillbilly Handfishing. It’s just not something that I can get into and I’m pretty sure that it won’t survive for another season.

Movie Watchers Upset With Netflix Price Increase

Sunday, July 24th, 2011

First thing that showed up on my laptop this morning was a big story about the angry Netflix customers that are busy speaking up against the raise in the price that Netflix just announced for their movie rentals. The story indicates that the price is going up 60% which sounds likes a massive increase, which has prompted numerous Netflix customers to cancel their subscription.

I’ve been been into the whole Netflix scene, but it seems to me that $10 a month for unlimited movies was a very low price, so the jump to $16 a month isn’t all that major if you ask me. That is still a very cheap price considering how easy it is to use and how many movies you get to watch in a months time.

Usually Useful Lists on Yahoo

Monday, March 28th, 2011

The Internet is full of lists of tips for any subject you could think of. My home page is Yahoo.com, so first thing I see are the day’s big news stories, celebrety headlines along with a few sport stories with some filler here and there with interesting tips on a variety of subjects that I check into from time to time.

Today the one that caught my eye was The When-to-Wash-It Handbook, which is now placed some where in the Shopping category with countless other interesting and some times wacky articles that hopefully with enlighten, educate and entertain you. I didn’t necessarily agree with the time frames that they provided the readers as to when to wash some of their clothing items, but for the most part I guess I’m doing correctly, as far as this list goes.

New Fries at Wendys

Wendys Fries

Wow! Have you tried the new fries at Wendy’s? I had not even heard about these new fries, but they are on the menu at my Wendy’s and they are only one dollar. The lady at the window says that they are bigger, still have the potato skin on the ends, and they use sea salt instead of table salt on them. So I went ahead and ordered it to try it out. All I can say is, “Yummy!”

Anheuser-Busch’s Marketing Strategies

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

Since I have several close friends that are furthering their Education using the Walden University online degree programs I have taken to reading The Chronicle of Higher Education online from time to time. It always has some quality articles that I have found interesting and entertaining as well.

I have been following the story of how as of last year, Anheuser-Busch has started  marketing a line of team-color Bud Light cans that are to appeal to sports fans in select markets. It seems that when the beer’s in your team’s colors that drinking seems safer and that has people up in arms about how that might encourage binge drinking and consumption by minors.

I can see how people (mainly school administrators) would be concerned about this marketing strategy. We have always had a problem with students drinking. Not just college kids, but high schoolers, middle schoolers and even some of the grade school kids are drinking and we all know how bad that can be for all concerned. You would think that companies that are making and selling alcohol would be a bit more cautious with their marketing strategies, I mean I’m sure that they have kids as well and that they should be more concerned with their safety rather than the all mighty dollar that they are always chasing after with little or no concern for what their products can do to people, especially our children.
