My hubby has been riding his Harley every minute he can get in on it! He loves to ride! He’s been talking about taking a vacation together and signing up for some Motorcycle Tours through the Eagle Rider Company website that he found. They rent Harleys, but they also rent ATVs, scooters, snowmobiles, dirt bikes, and watercraft. They offer self-drive tours, guided tours, and one-way specials. Naturally they also sell motorcycles! I’m sure my hubby would love to be an Eagle Rider on our next vacation!

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008My brother dropped over this afternoon to say hello and go for a motorcycle ride with my hubby. He brought over his new Nikon Monarch ATB binoculars to show off to us. He’s always buying new cool gadgets and bringing them over to show off! But he’s a good natured guy and we don’t take it in the context of bragging; he’s just excited about his new “toys” and wants to share his excitement over them! He said he got the binoculars from opticsplanet.net because they have good prices and were running a special where he got a $50.00 gift card and free shipping when he bought them. These binoculars are really rugged; I’m sure that’s why he bought them, he’s really hard on the things he owns!
Selling used items
Wednesday, June 11th, 2008My hubby has been collecting guns for many years. He has been thinking about selling some of his guns and then buying some different ones. I found a website that can help us determine fair used gun pricing to figure out how much to ask for the guns he wants to sell, and how much the new guns he wants to buy are actually worth before he spends his money on them.
The website is called UsedPrice.com, and they have a cool wizard that you can use to calculate the value of a lot of different items. They have a dozen different categories, from computers to musical instruments to camera equipment to power tools, to guns and several more. You can use this to determine a fair selling price if you are thinking about buying or selling, or you can use it for insurance value determination. I think this website will be a great help, and I am definitely going to bookmark it for future reference!

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008Yesterday I was talking with another bus driver during one of the between run lay overs. She was telling me that she likes to participate in the “transportation department” football pool in the fall. She told me that she gets free football picks over the Internet at www.addictsports.com, and that helps her to pick out the best teams to pick for the pool. She was encouraging me to join the pool this fall, and I told her I’d think about it. I’m not sure I’ll still be bus driving in the fall; I’m hoping to have a different job by then!
Rodeo in Las Vegas
Wednesday, May 21st, 2008When we were really young, our parents took my brothers, sisters, and me to a rodeo. I was so very young that I don’t remember where it was, but I remember how fascinated I was with the show. I loved everything about it! The sounds, sights, smells, the excitement! I’ve always loved horses, and this was just like being in heaven to me! Although I generally don’t enjoy competition, when I was younger it did not really seem like a competition to me between people, like a race would be. This seemed to be between animal and human. I didn’t understand at first that the goal was to stay on the animal longer than the other competitors, but I did figure that out later. I really didn’t care who won as far as which rider stayed on the longest to win the prize. I just got caught up in the excitement of staying on the bucking horse or bull, period. I also enjoyed the roping contests and the barrell racing. I just loved it all! I’d love to go to more rodeos, but to be honest I’ve never had the chance to go since!
My sister tells me that she and her hubby are going to go to Las Vegas this December to celebrate their wedding anniversary, and while they are in Las Vegas they are going to go to the National Finals Rodeo (NFR!) They are getting the NFR Tickets over the Internet at www.teamonetickets.com. I am so jealous!!!!
