No Melt Ice Cream

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Cold Stone Creamery has been busy putting little gourmet ice cream shops in malls and shopping centers all over the country. I’ve tried it a couple of times. As much as I love ice cream, I can’t justified spending $5-$6 per person for a cone of ice cream.

But this morning I read that Cold Stone has invented an ice cream that does not melt. It looks like a pudding or mousse and, according to the report, still tastes like ice cream. That might be worth a try!

Corn on the Cob

Friday, June 26th, 2009

One of the best things about fresh summer vegetables is the abundance of corn on the cob. I’ve tried to grow my own sweet corn, but have never had much success. So I do appreciate what the farmers go through to get these huge beautiful ears of corn to the market for us to enjoy with our dinners. I don’t mind paying up to a dollar an ear for good, fresh sweet corn!

Last Minute Shopping

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Well my list is about done, but I have a few more things to buy for gifts.I will have to get out of the house first thing in the morning and the buy the last of them.

I almost forgot to buy wrapping paper and ribbon! That means another trip to Walgreens since they are close and stay open late. I need an extra pair of hands to help me get all this wrapping done!

Dinner out with the gang from work

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

Well I am heartbroken because my favorite new co-worker is leaving to go back to college tomorrow.  She was the sweetest girl in the whole store, always cheerful and always willing to help.  I will miss her dreadfully.  I had to work today, but as soon as the pharmacy closed we all went to a local Mexican restaurant for a send-off dinner.  The food was good but I probably won’t go there again – the waiter did not understand what I meant when I asked for a ginger ale and had to ask his boss to come over and ask me what I wanted to drink.  And then I asked for a glass of milk to drink with my meal, but the milk never came.  I had a vegetarian quesadilla, which was really very good, but I was disappointed with the service!

Motorcycle vacations

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

My hubby has been riding his Harley every minute he can get in on it!  He loves to ride!  He’s been talking about taking a vacation together and signing up for some Motorcycle Tours through the Eagle Rider Company website that he found.  They rent Harleys, but they also rent ATVs, scooters, snowmobiles, dirt bikes, and watercraft.  They offer self-drive tours, guided tours, and one-way specials.  Naturally they also sell motorcycles!  I’m sure my hubby would love to be an Eagle Rider on our next vacation!
