One of my biggest joys is creating things – I love to make things with my hands. It brings me great joy to decorate my house with things that I have made. I am a “true blue” crafter. One of my favorite “crafting” past-times is sewing. I love to sew quilts, quillows, pillows, curtains, clothing, bedspreads - I love to sew! One of my favorite pastimes is wandering through as many fabric stores, just drooling over all of the fabulous fabrics and trims, dreaming of all of the great things I could create with all the great “stuff” I find there. I especially love looking at designer upholstery fabric, dreaming about how great my old sofa would look with that fabric on it!

I might sew some things for around the house
Monday, November 21st, 2011Redecorating guest bedroom soon
Wednesday, September 14th, 2011A few weeks ago my SIL sent us a gift from where she is stationed overseas – a very beautiful burgundy & gold tablecloth. I couldn’t figure out where to put it for a while, but it eventually ended up in the guest bedroom. Now I need to re-do the window treatment to make the room look nicer.
Saying A Prayer For The Weekend Weather Scare
Friday, August 26th, 2011I’m so glad that I switched over to Direct TV. I just hope that we don’t lose power over the weekend due to the up and coming arrival of the hurricane that we have been watching the progress of on our new Direct TV system. I have always wanted a generator for the house just for occasions such as this, but we haven’t had the extra money lately to put into something like this. Right now my main concern is finding a home security system to have installed so I have Googled “home security cordova” to see what kind of deals I can find.
Since the economy doesn’t seem to be letting up at all, there has been more and more home break ins and robberies happening and I just don’t feel safe anymore. Even though we really don’t have much of anything of value around here they could still walk away with some of the electronics and really trash the place searching for more things that we might possibly have and that just wouldn’t be cool. We have worked hard for the things that we have.
In the mean time I’m praying that these hurricane doesn’t hit as hard as they are saying it could hit. Be safe.
Movie night with the Red Hatters
Friday, May 27th, 2011This month our Red Hatters event is a pj party at Janet’s house. We’ll be watching a few movies that Janet has recorded from her DirectTV and play a few games. It’s been a long time since I’ve actually played games at a party before! Everyone is supposed to wear their red and purple pjs that we made last month and bring some movie-watching snacks and beverages. I’ve never actually travelled anywhere already dressed in my pjs so I think I’ll just pack them in a bag and change into them once I get there. I wonder what the other ladies will be doing – it will be interesting to see!
Jim told me that he is going to be going to an Elk’s meeting that same night, so he reminded me to set the home security conway system before I leave for Janet’s house. There has been a rash of home invasions in the area lately, and we don’t need to come home and find our house being burglarized! Even worse would be walking in on the burglars in the act! Better safe than sorry!
T G I F
Friday, April 8th, 2011This has been a long week for me. I am really glad the work week is over now and I have Friday night to chill, and all weekend to decompress.
I hope the weather is nice so I can get outside in the fresh air. If I can get an early start on Saturday I want to go to Home Depot and buy some blooming flowers and some tomato plants. I’m ready to plant things and spend time outside. Nothing refreshes the soul and soothes the frazzled nerves like digging in the dirt and putting pretty flowers in the ground to brighten everyone’s day.
