Summer Reruns

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

The TV networks have been running ads for weeks about the new season shows and yet we still have a long way to go before the premieres are on the air. I don’t think they need to tease us for over 3 months about upcoming shows. Couldn’t that air time be put to better use?

I’ve been watching repeat shows all summer and I’m totally sick of them. Some of the repeats are the fourth time I’ve seen the same episode. This is ridiculous. The networks are still programming and operating like this is the 1950’s. They need to realize that the viewers have different lifestyles now and quit with the summer reruns.

No Melt Ice Cream

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Cold Stone Creamery has been busy putting little gourmet ice cream shops in malls and shopping centers all over the country. I’ve tried it a couple of times. As much as I love ice cream, I can’t justified spending $5-$6 per person for a cone of ice cream.

But this morning I read that Cold Stone has invented an ice cream that does not melt. It looks like a pudding or mousse and, according to the report, still tastes like ice cream. That might be worth a try!

Bunnies

bunnypots

Just before dark, the bunnies come out in my yard. There are about 6 of them. It is always startling to step out of my door and see all the sudden movement as they hop away. But it’s kind of cool, too.

Corn on the Cob

Friday, June 26th, 2009

One of the best things about fresh summer vegetables is the abundance of corn on the cob. I’ve tried to grow my own sweet corn, but have never had much success. So I do appreciate what the farmers go through to get these huge beautiful ears of corn to the market for us to enjoy with our dinners. I don’t mind paying up to a dollar an ear for good, fresh sweet corn!

Last Minute Shopping

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Well my list is about done, but I have a few more things to buy for gifts.I will have to get out of the house first thing in the morning and the buy the last of them.

I almost forgot to buy wrapping paper and ribbon! That means another trip to Walgreens since they are close and stay open late. I need an extra pair of hands to help me get all this wrapping done!
