Today I decided to play hooky from class today. I went to bed extra late last night and had to get up extra early this morning, and have to go to work later today (and work until 9pm) I was just too tired to go to class. I went to bed so late last night because I had to pick my son up from the airport late (his plane was late, which made it worse) and I had to get up early this morning to take my step-daughter to the airport extra early in the morning this morning – I DID take her to the airport yesterday but her flight was cancelled because of inclement weather so we had to reschedule it for this morning. So I ended up with too little sleep to get through today safely, so I decided to skip class. When I got home from the airport I called my instructor and left a message that I was going to miss class, and I went to bed and took a nice three hour nap! I like naps!

Skipping class today
Tuesday, August 12th, 2008Surgery for obesity
Thursday, July 24th, 2008The JourneyLite Company performs lapband surgery in their locations in the Los Angelas/Thousand Oaks area of California, the Houston Texas area, the Cincinnati Ohio area, the Chattanooga Tennessee area, and the Tampa Florida area. They offer the lap-band surgery to those clients who have tried every conceivable way to lose weight and have decided that surgery is their only option.
Teacher couldn’t solve the problem, either
Thursday, July 24th, 2008Well, the test I mentioned a few posts ago, I got a 97 out of 100. The teacher said the highest score on the test was a 97, so I guess that was me! I asked him to demonstrate how to get the correct answer to the one question that I missed, and he couldn’t do it! Everyone in the class had gotten that question wrong, and since he couldn’t solve it himself, he decided to “give” everyone 3 points on their test (the equivalent of throwing the question out) which gave me a 100! I was very surprised that I got the highest score, I was sure there were at least two people in the class that would have scored higher than I scored! I’m not complaining, though, it is an ego boost to know I scored the highest!
Now THAT’S a bad day!
Monday, July 21st, 2008I was reading on msnbc.nbc.com this morning that last week, the first day on the job for police officer Tim Pochron in Hobart Indiana did not start well. Twenty nine minutes into his first day, his new squad car was parked outside his house (I don’t know why it was outside his house when he was on the job, that is interesting….) and an intoxicated driver smashed into the squad car, and then a tree. The rear axle of the squad car was bent from the impact.
Not a good way to start a job, is it?
I was worried about the test
Monday, July 21st, 2008Last week was the mid-term exam for the Pharmacy Technician Course that I’m taking. I was really worried about how well I was going to do. It was largely a test where we had to memorize a bunch of measurement conversions, like how many milliliters in an ounce, and a lot of math. I was worried that I was going to have a brain cramp and forget my conversions. So I spent several hours the day before the test writing my own conversion chart over and over and over again.
When the test was passed out I asked the teacher if it was ok if we used a blank scrap piece of paper to write on, to do the math, etc, and he said yes. So I took out a blank piece of paper and as the test started I wrote down the chart that I had been memorizing. What a HUGE HELP that was! I got an “A” on the test, but I KNOW that if I had NOT written down that chart I would not have done as well! The panic factor/brain cramp would have hit and I would have forgotten many of the conversions!
