This morning I had an epiphany! If I ever need a new umbrella, all I have to do is wait for a rainy day and then drive around for a few minutes. Every time I drive in the rain, I see at least one umbrella lying in the road! I don’t know if it there because a smarty-pants kid threw it out of a car window (I have memories of my sister throwing one of my toys out of a moving car window and my parents refusing to stop or turn around even though it was a suburban quiet 25mph road!) or if it is there because the driver had his/her hands full when opening the car door to get into the car and put the umbrella on the roof of the car and then forgot it was there and drove off with the umbrella still on the roof, only to have the umbrella slide off after driving a short distance. Whatever the reason, there are umbrellas in the road every time it rains!

Umbrella Shopping
Tuesday, September 27th, 2011Nothing but Net
Friday, January 7th, 2011Today I got an email from my web hosting service that it was time to renew for another year. Where does the time go? Seems like just yesterday that I was getting involved in setting up my blog, learning about the different types of web services. I can remember spending quite a bit of time learning about the differences between the providers, learning about managed hosting and colocation services.
I admit that I am a reluctant participant in learning about the technologies involving the Internet. I rather feel like my brain is already full and am afraid that I just won’t retain information that I need in regards to things like that. Thankfully there are resources online to always be able to turn to when I have a brain cramp and refresh my memory when the need arises.
Green Webhosting Options
Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010I try my best to do the right thing for our environment. My parents brought us up to respect the earth and they instilled how important recycling is. It always bugs me to see such waste out on the curb each Friday, when on Tuesday mornings there are only a few recycling bins (bins that they city provides for it’s residents, so they are free) sitting on the side of the road waiting to be collected.
Anyway I have been thinking about changing my webhosting to one that is doing what they can to become as “green” as possible and have found that the numbers are growing since becoming “green” is such a big to-do these days. I’ve checked out a few sites that do reviews and ratings on various web hostings and have narrowed it down to a few. SuperGreen will most likely end up getting my business and I’ll most likely get right on it after the fast approaching holidays are done and over with.
Getting myself even “greener” will be a great way to start the New Year!
I could crochet them myself
Tuesday, October 19th, 2010I saw a headline about a pair of $500 socks and I was intrigued. So I clicked around and found a video that explains it. They look like they are crocheted (I could do that) and they cannot be washed or dry cleaned. The socks have a large fish-net type open-ness to them. I wonder how many pairs of these socks will be sold! What do YOU think of these socks?
My Spell Checker & My Calculator
Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010I am so grateful for my Spell Checker I have to be on the world’s worst speller and I always use my Spell Checker before I send anything off to any where. Most of the time I have gotten a least one word wrong! Another thing I’m grateful for is my calculator, I’d be lost without it.
