Underwear Issues

Saturday, October 15th, 2011

One thing I can say about mens underwear is that it is pretty darned easy to order them online. I don’t know about you but when I need new underwear I have to go out shopping and look through endless piles and racks of under garments and then try all the ones that I have found on. What a pain that is considering that you have to (and really need to) keep your own underwear on underneath the new ones, for sanitary reasons of course. It is so hard to get the real feel of things that way, if you know what I mean.

I have been buying my son’s and my husbands underwear for as long as I remember and now I have been purchasing them online which has been a time and money saver, both of which are awesome. I can usually find good deals and free shipping is always a must when ordering anything online, if not those shipping and handling charges can really rack up the final total bill and we can’t be having that these days.

Real Men Wear Pink

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

I love how each October so many good folks do so many good thing for breast cancer awareness. I went into my favorite lunch restaurant and was tickled to see some of the guys working there wearing pink shirts and/or pick hats, wearing them proudly, which I think is such a turn on and a delight. Back in the day any man that would wear anything pink would have been harassed something fierce.

I remember working at an office back when I was nineteen. My boss walked in wearing a new pink shirt and I complimented him on how nice that pink shirt looked on him and I was told by another office employee that I should never say that a man wears anything pink, that I should refer to it as a “light red” shirt.  LOL

Anyway, it seems that there are more and more breast cancer awareness products being offered to the general public and I would love to find something that I could feel good about wearing to help support this worthy cause. Good thing I look good in pink!

Maui For Christmas

Monday, October 3rd, 2011

I’ve got an idea stuck in my head, and I can thank my kid sister for that. She had brought up some time ago the idea of a few of us close female family member taking a holiday trip to some place nice and warm, like Maui for example. She keeps talking about this and it has really gotten my excited about doing something like this maybe for the next holiday season, after this year’s one that is up and coming quicker than I’d like it to. This year no one has any extra money for presents or a trip and a stay at one of the plush Maui Condos that we have been talking and dreaming of so quite some time now.

Who wouldn’t enjoy a nice relaxing holiday season for a change. Instead of dealing with all the stress and madness that takes place during those crazy months that so many people and families get put through each and every year. Sitting on a tropical beach, soaking up the sun, people watching and drinking one of those drinks with the little umbrella in it sounds so much better than dealing with the wet, cold, nasty weather that comes along during those holiday months.

Umbrella Shopping

Tuesday, September 27th, 2011

This morning I had an epiphany!  If I ever need a new umbrella, all I have to do is wait for a rainy day and then drive around for a few minutes.  Every time I drive in the rain, I see at least one umbrella lying in the road!  I don’t know if it there because a smarty-pants kid threw it out of a car window (I have memories of my sister throwing one of my toys out of a moving car window and my parents refusing to stop or turn around even though it was a suburban quiet 25mph road!) or if it is there because the driver had his/her hands full when opening the car door to get into the car and put the umbrella on the roof of the car and then forgot it was there and drove off with the umbrella still on the roof, only to have the umbrella slide off after driving a short distance.  Whatever the reason, there are umbrellas in the road every time it rains!

This Change IS NOT Good at Wells Fargo

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

Last month my bank changed over to being a Wells Fargo bank, which I’m not too happy about, but not much I can do about it right now. What is a real bummer is that all the employees that I had gotten to know, relied on and looked forward to seeing when I came are no longer there, which really bites.

Today I had go inside because the teller at the drive in window was giving me a hassle about a check that I wanted to cash, which was never an issue before Wells Fargo came into the picture. I was surprised to see that this very small home town branch now had these stanchions with the nice and plush looking velvet rope (which I’m sure customers such as myself helped pay for) placed in front of the tellers for their “crowd control” issues. What crowd is what I want to know? What a joke.

Next thing I expect to see is some of barricades put into place for the employees that are conducting business behind the desks and in their high and mighty offices that now look very uninviting to the eye, sigh . .
