One of the best things about fresh summer vegetables is the abundance of corn on the cob. I’ve tried to grow my own sweet corn, but have never had much success. So I do appreciate what the farmers go through to get these huge beautiful ears of corn to the market for us to enjoy with our dinners. I don’t mind paying up to a dollar an ear for good, fresh sweet corn!

Thursday, June 18th, 2009This summer has a great lineup of movies coming out. I can’t believe how many big budget movies are coming to the big screen. Some of them truly deserve or need to be seen on the big screen to get maximum enjoyment, like the new Star Wars and new Transformers sequel. I think I will try to catch a couple of them for matinee shows, when the ticket price is reduced and the day is so hot that it will be nice to be indoors at a movie in air conditioned comfort.
