Neighbor is trying pull something off

Monday, June 16th, 2008

We have a neighbor that we think has been trying to do SOMETHING nasty regarding our dogs.  Every now and then something not natural happens that is simply unexplainable without human involvement being a part of the picture.  Every now and then the hooks that attach the cable ties to the stakes pounded in the ground mysteriously become unhooked, or disassembled.  Sometimes we will let the dogs out on their cable ties, and when they come back in one of their collars is missing.  We will scour the yard looking for the collar, and it will be nowhere to be found.  Weeks will go by, and then the collar will reappear on our doorstep.

The Career Network

Monday, June 16th, 2008

As I’ve mentioned to you before, now that school is out for the summer, I am taking courses on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I want to find a better job than school bus driving.  If it doesn’t work out that I pass this course I’m taking, or get a job in the field after the course IS completed, I need to find something to help pay the bills.  A friend told me to try looking for a new job through the Career Network website.

I just went to the website to check it out, and it seemed pretty straightforward to use.  You type in the job title you are interested in and the location you want to work in, and click on the button that says “Find Jobs.”  Within moments you are shown the jobs that they have listed as available with brief descriptions of the jobs.  If you want more information, then you click on the more information link.  If you want even more information, then you actually have to fill out the forms with your name, address, phone numbers, email, and upload your resume.  After you submit that they tell you that they will contact you.

So you don’t really get more information at that point, which was a little bit of a disappointment because I have a feeling that even though I typed in the name of the town that I wanted to find a job in, I have a bad feeling that the job opportunities shown to me were not actually in that town.  So I guess now I just have to wait and see what happens, wait for some kind of contact from them.  I hope I wasn’t wasting my time!

What a weekend!

Monday, June 16th, 2008

My goodness gracious, what a weekend of news it has been!  Every time I turn on the news, something is actually being covered other than the presidential election!

Big news of the weekend included Tim Russert dying of cardiac arrest.  All weekend long, and into today that seems to be the biggest news story, everyone is talking about Tim Russert and what a great guy he was.  I enjoyed watching his Meet The Press show, and I’m sorry he’s dead.  My sympathies to his family.

Other news, a big prison break in Afghanistan, releasing hundreds of Taliban terrorist prisoners.  Not a happy thought that we now have more of them running around ready to commit suicide bombings around the world!

And a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Japan.  I’ve only heard of six fatalities, which is amazing to me.  I would have thought more casualties would have happened from a quake that large!

Glad this weekend is over!  We don’t need that much going on!

Credit card relief

Friday, June 13th, 2008

With the economy continuing to struggle, more and more people are going to find themselves drowning in credit card debt.  They may find themselves in need of help to consolidate their debts.  I’m sorry to say that they could very well be the case for my family if things don’t improve pretty soon, especially since I’m not working for money this summer while I’m taking that course!

The Credit Exchange is an Internet company that helps their clients to obtain credit card relief.  They do that by referring services for debt consolidation and debt management to their customers.  There is no other company like this in existence that I know of.  The company offers financial services like credit and debt counseling, debt settlement, and financial analysis through their network of affiliated companies.  They are not a debt management company, they are a referral company.

Research paper

Friday, June 13th, 2008

I’ve spent most of this morning doing research for a paper that I am going to have to write for my Pharmacy Technician course.  It is going to have to be 5 pages long.  I think he said double spaced, I’ll have to check my notes.  Anyway, it can be on any topic related to pharmacy, so I decided to write the paper about counterfeit drugs.  I’ve been finding a lot of good Internet articles on the topic, so I don’t think I’ll have trouble writing that paper.
