Well, it has been a busy week!

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

I have been very busy this past week.  I had to go to my Pharmacy Technician classes on Tuesday and Thursday, and on Wednesday I went to a free techniques course for a decorative painting, the technique was “floating colors.”  It has been several years since I took a techniques class for that style of “normal” decorative painting.  It was a good class, I was glad that I went.  The only problem that I had was getting to the class; it was supposed to be a one hour drive but because of unexpected traffic problems (getting stuck in traffic jams due to accidents) the drive took two hours.  I had left the house a half hour earlier than I thought I would have to leave, thinking I would get there a half hour early.  Instead I was a half hour late!

So that was discouraging, but once I got to class and set up, things went well.  I signed up for another free class and one that I have to pay for that is a week-end seminar.

California Lasik procedures

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Lasik is the newest technology in vision correction, and is gaining popularity across the country.  The military has their pilots receive Lasik vision correction, and many sports figures are having the Lasik correction done in the hopes it will improve their performance and give them a competitive edge.  I think that if a sports competitor has Lasik to correct impaired vision, then that is an acceptable practice; however if they are having it done when their vision is already 20/20 and they don’t NEED any correction, I would consider that to be cheating.  I wonder how many of them do that to get an unfair advantage!?

Lasik in San Francisco is performed by a company called LaserVue.  They have three offices in California, which makes it convenient for people in California to schedule Lasik vision correction procedures.  Their highly skilled doctors have performed over 25,000 procedures!   The procedure usually takes less than five minutes per eye, and is virtually painless.  The LaserVue company arranges easy payment plans for their clients, making it more affordable for their clients to take advantage of this new technological advance to improve their vision.

Cool eco-friendly gadgets

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

I love buying and using things that are eco-friendly.  I think I began recycling things long before I knew what recycling was!  I like to do whatever I can to make this earth a healthier, safer place to live.  So I was really excited to discover the www.ecogeekliving.com website because it is full of really cool gadgets like the LED shake flashlight.  This little gadget needs no batteries; you just shake it for one minute, and it will provide you with thirty minutes of light.  That’s plenty of time to do most of the things you need to get done with a flashlight!

Sister-in-law back from Iraq

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

My sister-in-law is in the reserves, and she was called up to go to Iraq about a year ago.  We have been very anxious about her safety the entire time she was gone.  Thank goodness for emails and telephones!  We just heard that she is safely back in the US.  Hopefully for good.  We are so glad that she is back safe and sound!  I pray that every single soldier in Iraq returns safe and sound to their families as well.

My client is going to Spain

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

My client in New England has told me that he is planning to fly to Malaga Spain next month with his family for a two week vacation.  He has asked me to see if my step-daughter, who still lives up there is willing to stay at his house while he is gone and take care of his plants and pets.  He is planning on staying with some friends that have already rented a house for the period of time they are going to be there.  He has asked me to do some research and find the cheapest Car hire malaga rates that I can find.  I told him that I found the best deals for him at www.carrentals.co.uk.  They provide car rental services just about anywhere in the world, not just the UK!
