My father used to say that there were only two certainties in life – paying taxes and death. Unfortunately, I’ve learned that he’s pretty much right on that! It seems that I’m always paying taxes somewhere for something. I was very surprised when I moved from Maine down here to Virginia to find that in Virginia they charge sales tax on groceries. In Maine there is no income tax on groceries. I don’t think it is fair to have to pay sales tax on groceries! And we all know there is a HUGE tax on gasoline, don’t we!?
