As I’ve mentioned to you before, now that school is out for the summer, I am taking courses on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I want to find a better job than school bus driving. If it doesn’t work out that I pass this course I’m taking, or get a job in the field after the course IS completed, I need to find something to help pay the bills. A friend told me to try looking for a new job through the Career Network website.
I just went to the website to check it out, and it seemed pretty straightforward to use. You type in the job title you are interested in and the location you want to work in, and click on the button that says “Find Jobs.” Within moments you are shown the jobs that they have listed as available with brief descriptions of the jobs. If you want more information, then you click on the more information link. If you want even more information, then you actually have to fill out the forms with your name, address, phone numbers, email, and upload your resume. After you submit that they tell you that they will contact you.
So you don’t really get more information at that point, which was a little bit of a disappointment because I have a feeling that even though I typed in the name of the town that I wanted to find a job in, I have a bad feeling that the job opportunities shown to me were not actually in that town. So I guess now I just have to wait and see what happens, wait for some kind of contact from them. I hope I wasn’t wasting my time!
