I’ve often thought that I’d like to learn how to play violin as beautifully as my uncle could.  But my parents made me take piano lessons instead.  Well, I have no room in my house for a piano, but I would have had room for a violin!  There is a website www.videoviolinlessons.com that sells a DVD set of violin lessons that were recorded by the Academy of Music Performance with a professional violin instructor Mrs Bridgette Seidel.  It sells several sets of DVDs.  The first set is the equivalent of one year of private violin lessons.  This sounds like a great way to learn to play violin in the privacy of your own home without having to spend a huge amount of money!
